Veterinary Services & Animal Welfare (Farming, Animals & Conservation)Full timeLead RSPCA Qld's Animal Care Centres across our North Queensland region by mentoring teams, ensuring best practices in animal welfare, and driving program development to enhance animal care and community engagement. This role requires strong leadership, operational oversight, and a hands-on approach to ensure compliance, efficiency, and continuous improvement across all shelters.ResponsibilitiesLead the regional centres by mentoring and developing a diverse team of animal care staff, fostering a culture of trust and fairness, and ensuring best practices in animal welfare management.Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and industry standards, while providing operational, welfare, and financial performance reports.Drive program development, focusing on initiatives like boarding services, educational workshops, and foster care expansion.Collaborate with stakeholders and community partners to smoothly implement new programs, enhancing operational efficiency and financial independence.Lead daily operations, including vendor management, WHS compliance, and animal care, while ensuring shelters and properties are maintained and audited.Work closely with People & Culture and General Manager to manage recruitment, staff development and succession planning, performance planning, budget preparation and projects.Champion a culture of open communication and lead by example, actively participating in shelter operations when needed.About YouYou'll be a great communicator with top-notch interpersonal skills.
