Based in Macquarie Park, Sydney, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Technical Specialist to join our Solution Design Engineering team.
You will act as a subject matter expert responsible for designing, testing, and integrating new releases of software, hardware, and services into the Optus network.
You have extensive knowledge of Carrier Ethernet network for Access Transport.
While primarily focused on the access core area, the role may extend to other areas of the network as needed.
The day to day Provide Tier 3 technical support for access core platforms and services.Manage vendor relationships, particularly concerning faults and integration deliverables.Offer technical leadership to junior engineers, operations, and business stakeholders.Act as a second-in-charge to the manager during their absence.Perform software and hardware upgrades, testing, and integration.Develop accurate engineering network design and testing documentation.Maintain test environments at production levels.Ensure best practices and supported software configurations are in use to reduce downtime.Monitor and analyse network performance metrics, providing optimisation recommendations.Why you are our next Lead Technical Specialist Years of experience in telecommunications, with extensive technical experience in areas such as 4G and 5G Mobile Network Technologies, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, Carrier Ethernet and more.Extensive experience in a telecommunications operations group responsible for Tier 2 fault diagnoses and troubleshooting.Experience in testing/proof of concept, internetworking design, and large-scale network environments.Ability to design and develop products, services, and solutions to optimise the customer experience.Experience in liaising with middle and senior management.What's in it for you? 3 days in the office, 2 days remote – with flexible hours to suitInclusive paid parental leave, up to 14 weeks for the primary caregiver.All Optus employees have access to resources, webinars and support via the 'Parents at Work portal'.Own your own growth by accessing an extensive online and facilitator-led learning catalogue – even earn an MBA micro-credential via OptusU (University).Connect at work through one of our employee-led volunteer groups: Culture Connect, Elevate Women, Disability Network, Express Yourself (LGBTQIA+), United Veterans and Yarn Network.Vibrant campus life, variety of facilities including restaurants, cafes, gymnasium, GP, and post office.Free Optus bus from Macquarie University Metro Station (every 6-8 minutes); morning and afternoonKeen to see what it's really like to work at Optus?
