A consortium between Gamuda Australia and Laing O'Rourke has been awarded a contract to start tunnelling on the Sydney Metro West project.
With tunneling activities well underway, the Gamuda Australia Laing O'Rourke Consortium is looking for a passionate Safety Coordinator to implement and drive an accountable and positive safety culture on site, specifically supporting our mined tunneling team.
About the roleSupport the project set up including creating the required documentation and processes required to plan for areas of work.Engage with regulatory bodies, clients and other stakeholders to ensure proactive engagement and achieve compliance.Prepare presentation and training material and reports for internal and external stakeholders.Providing project leaders, site supervisors and workers with specialist guidance and advocate for positive work health and safety change.Monitor and provide advice and training for compliance to support the effective implementation of WHS legislation, policies and procedures.Advocate for the facilitation of work health and safety procedures and programs through mentoring and coaching staff.Your skills and experienceTertiary Qualifications in Work Health & Safety.Strong understanding of current health and safety legislation, procedures, processes, and best practices.Well-developed people management skills that encourages staff to perform at optimum levels without compromising on standards.Proven experience working on Tier 1 projects, TBM tunnelling experience is highly advantageous.The Gamuda Australia Laing O'Rourke Consortium combines global and local innovation, with leading expertise in delivering complex tunnelling and engineering projects.
