At the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC), we are not just about elections; we are about enabling all Victorians to actively participate in their democracy.
The VEC conducts State and local council elections and is responsible for promoting public awareness and understanding of electoral issues in the Victorian community.
What you will be doing Reporting directly to the Lead Investigator, you will be responsible for:
Conducting serious, complex, and sensitive breaches of the Electoral Act 2002, including intricate financial matters Preparing briefs, reports, correspondence, and recommendations on complex issues Analysing, interpreting, and applying complex legal and policy issues whilst ensuring compliance with legal requirements Managing competing priorities that involve inflexible timelines whilst working autonomously What you will bring to the role Experience in law enforcement, legal, compliance, financial, and/or regulatory discipline is highly desirable Demonstrated high analytical skills, with experience in interpreting and analysing financial statements a benefit Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prepare briefs of evidence, reports, and recommendations on complex issues Ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced business environment, particularly during peak election periods A strong commitment to self-development and willingness to learn How to apply All applicants must submit:
