About the Department for Correctional Services
The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state.
Our vision is for a safer community by protecting the public and reducing re-offending.

Duties
The Supervisor will provide supervision and leadership to a team of Custodial staff.
The incumbent will:
Assist the Unit Manager to implement performance development processes.
Assist the Unit Manager to provide administrative and logistical support;
Promote a commitment to service excellence and professionalism in all aspects of the operation of the Institution;
Coordinate the operations in all area of the Institution as required;
Ensure that all staff are fully aware of the application of and compliance to the appropriate security measures for the safe and secure custody of prisoners;
Ensure effective case management is maintained;
The Supervisor may be required to undertake the responsibilities of Officer in Charge when rostered on weekends, public holidays, first watch, second watch and swing shifts (where applicable).
Special Conditions
Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements.
The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check;
A current South Australian Driver's Licence is essential;
A flexible approach to working hours is required;
Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.
The Supervisor will be rostered 38 hours over 7 days.
Initial placement will be at an appropriate Correctional Services business unit.
The incumbent will be required to rotate through workgroups/locations within an institution on a regular, defined basis that does not exceed 18 months.
A current recognised Senior First Aid Certificate is required.
The Supervisor will be required to have a current Performance Development Plan.
Requirements
Essential: Certificate III in Correctional PracticeCustodial experience
Desirable: Certificate IV in Correctional practiceTertiary Studies in Supervision, Management, Human Services or relevant discipline

CO4 ($76,857 - $83,635pa)
