Facilities Officer - Northern BHFLHN sites (Casual Pool)Job no: 877361 Work type: Casual Location: Barossa Categories: Community Services, Support Services, TechnicalBarossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network, Gawler, Kapunda, Angaston, Tanunda and EudundaSalary: $29.11 - $29.41 p/hr + 25% Casual loading - WHA3 - CasualOverviewJoining the friendly team across our northern Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network sites, you will be responsible for performing general facility maintenance associated with the interior and exterior of the health unit.
Your duties may include rubbish collection, minor carpentry, painting, plumbing, mechanical and grounds maintenance.
Selecting, establishing and maintaining simple gardens, you will install and maintain a wide range of watering systems and formulate, prepare and apply herbicides, pesticides, weedicides or specialty fertilisers.
You may also perform advanced tractor operations requiring the set up and calibration of a broad range of implements to undertake more complex grounds functions.
As part of your role, you will provide assistance and guidance to other employees, including on-the-job training.Being part of Barossa Hills Fleurieu LHN means you will be supported both personally and professionally, and will provide you with the opportunity to make a real difference to the residents/patients we care for and by extension, their family and the local community.You will have prior experience in building and grounds maintenance, with practical experience in using a wide range of hand and power tools.
With the ability to work with minimum supervision utilising your initiative and judgement to ensure the timely completion of tasks and activities as directed, you will be capable of adhering to instructions, established practices and guidelines.
You will have a sound understanding of the Occupational Health Safety & Welfare acts relevant to a maintenance role.
