Food Service WorkerHaslett High SchoolJanuary 6, 2025
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Previous food service experience, preferably in a school setting.Knowledge of food preparation methods, portion control, proper food handling and storage, inventory control and food ordering.Knowledge and experience in cash handling, cashiering.
Good math skills.Knowledge of food safety laws and regulations.Ability to deliver exceptional customer service in a school setting.Ability to communicate with students, parents, and staff in an appropriate and respectful manner.Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.Positive attitude and willingness to work for improvement.Ability to follow the requirements of school food service.Able to multitask and make decisions regarding food preparation.Working knowledge of school meal requirements.Valid SERV Safe Certification within 60 days.Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds such as milk crates, frozen foods, canned food etc.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve meals to students in a friendly and pleasant manner.Prepare food, provide service, and perform other kitchen activities including dishes, clean up, receiving, and stocking.Maintain high sanitary and safety standards in the kitchen and storage areas.Accurate cash handling and accounting for daily sales, including performing cashier duties.Work with Lead Cooks, Co-workers, and Director of Food and Nutrition Services toward an effective and efficient food service operation.Perform duties at different sites in the district, as necessary.Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Food and Nutrition Services.Ability to do heavy lifting up to 50 pounds putting away stock from Gordon Food Service twice a week.COMPENSATION / BENEFITS: Per Master Contract with Haslett Applied Services Association
