My client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Process Engineer to join their team.
This leadership role will involve overseeing and optimizing engineering processes, driving technical innovation, and leading process engineering teams to deliver complex projects.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in process engineering, with expertise in mining and a passion for developing solutions that improve efficiency and productivity.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage process engineering projects from concept through to execution, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
Design, implement, and optimize process systems, equipment, and workflows to ensure maximum efficiency and safety.
Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and process simulations to support project development.
Collaborate with stakeholders, including project managers, operations teams, and external partners, to drive successful project outcomes.
Analyze existing systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and propose innovative solutions.
Develop and review process design documents, including P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and control strategies.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in process engineering.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality technical outputs and meeting deadlines.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
10+ years of experience in process engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or senior technical role.
Extensive experience in process, e.g., chemical, mining and energy processes.
Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex engineering projects.
Strong knowledge of process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and process design software.
Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and innovate.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with teams and clients.
In-depth understanding of safety and environmental regulations related to process engineering.
Ability to manage budgets, resources, and timelines efficiently.
