About the Role This position works as part of a team to perform general maintenance, repairs, manual tasks, and grounds maintenance across Carpentaria owned, leased, and managed properties.
This includes approximately 30 Supported Independent Living houses and the Harry's Place campus buildings.
On a day to day basis the Grounds Maintenance Officer will:
Responsibilities include: Responsible for garden maintenance including upkeep of lawns, gardens and reticulation, and associated landscaping projectsUndertake periodic inspections of reticulation systems and carry out associated repairs and maintenanceEnsure all work carried out is in accordance with Carpentaria's Workplace Health and Safety Policies and ProceduresPrepare, maintain and ensure accurate electronic and hard copy recordsRemoval of rubbish and green wasteRespond to emergency repair situations and undertake other duties required, noting that such activities may on occasion be outside normal working hoursMaintain or schedule servicing of all equipment suppliedAbout you Demonstrated ability to work independently to a high standardProven experience in a similar roleStrong communication and interpersonal skillsGood understanding of Workplace Health and Safety matters, in relation to both personal safety and the safety of our participants and employeesExperience in repairing reticulation systemsDemonstrated ability to work on schedule and to prioritise tasksAn ability to work in an inclusive and diverse team, and to work around participant and employee schedulesThe capacity to undertake tasks outdoors for extended periods of timeCurrent Ochre Card, Criminal History Check, NDIS Worker Screening and NT Drivers LicenceWhy work with us?
