We have an exciting opportunity for an Early Childhood Educator (Certificate III) to join our positive and inclusive team at Oatley West Early Learning Centre based in Oatley, commencing in February 2025.
What We Offer Permanent, full-time position based at Oatley West Early Learning Centre (70 hours per fortnight)Salary from $60,079.84 - $69,609.92 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation (dependant on the skills, qualifications and relevant experience of the suitable candidate)Opportunity to work a 9-day fortnightClose to public transport with parking also available on-siteHealth and Wellbeing paid leaveFitness Passport Program offering discounted membership for you and your family to selected facilitiesEmployee Assistance ProgramSalary Packaging OptionsSponsored Study ProgramEmployee Rewards ProgramOngoing Education and ResourcesLong service leave after 5 yearsAbout the Role The Early Childhood Educator (Certificate III) is expected to provide a friendly, secure, and stimulating learning environment for all children attending the Centre and to assist in the planning and implementation of programmes which meet the developmental, cultural and special needs of children in care.
You will also be providing support to and ensuring regular communication with parents of children in care, enjoying creating an environment where every child's early years set the stage for a lifetime of curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning.
You will recognise the vital role that building strong relationships with families has on children's learning and development, ensuring families feel valued and involved in their child's education.
Understanding that each child's voice is essential in decision-making processes will guide your approach.
By actively listening to children and incorporating their ideas and voices into learning experiences and decision-making, you will empower them and foster a sense of belonging.
We believe in taking a holistic approach to children's learning, and as such, educators are actively involved in cross-collaboration across services, planning incursions and excursions, purchasing resources and materials for children, and consulting on programs and routines.

The successful candidate will have Certificate III in Children's Services or equivalent.
(For the purposes of the Education and Care Services National Law, and published in accordance with regulation 137(1)(a) of the Education and Care Services National Regulations)Current First Aid Certificate, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management Certificates with at least 6 months until expiryApproved current Working with Children Check with at least 6 months until expiryNSW Department of Education and Communities approved Child Protection Training CertificatePrevious experience working as a Childcare Assistant preferable with children 0-5 years of age in a Childcare CentreSound oral and written communication skills and ability to relate well to children, families, staff, volunteers and the communityAbility to work as a member of a team, and to provide role-modelling as appropriateDemonstrated ability or willingness to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary teamAbout Georges River Council's Early Learning Services Georges River Council operates six strategically located Early Learning Services, caring for about 400 children in areas like Beverly Hills, Carss Park, and Kogarah.
