Senior Payroll Officer – Temporary Contract Job Title : Senior Payroll Officer Contract : 10-month temporary contract, with the potential for extension Hours : 35 hours per week Location : Sydney Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer with strong CHRIS21 skills.
In this role, you will administer the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations.
You will also identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to streamline processes and increase efficiency.
This role requires you to handle payroll queries and escalations from employees and stakeholders, providing timely and accurate responses.
Key Responsibilities: Administer payroll calculations, deductions, tax filings, and payment processing.
Identify and implement process improvements to streamline payroll operations.
Demonstrate a sound knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and Local Awards and multiple EAs interpretation.
Provide effective support for payroll-related inquiries from employees and stakeholders.
Key Requirements: Proven experience as a Senior Payroll Officer within a public sector organisation.
Experienced in high volume of payroll in a fast pace environment.
Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance.
Proficiency in CHRIS21 or similar payroll systems.
