Townsville Hospital and Health Service is the public healthcare provider for the government areas of Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Flinders, Richmond, Hinchinbrook and Palm Island.
We operate 21 facilities from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.
In this role you will deliver Social Work services for consumers requiring Rehabilitation and Acquired Brain Injury Services, in accordance with professional standards and legislation consistent with the Mental Health Strategy for Queensland and the National Standards for Mental Health Services.
Working collaboratively with consumers and multidisciplinary professionals to provide clinical care and a therapeutic environment conducive to the dignity and wellbeing of consumers and carers. About the opportunity:Position: Social WorkerVacancy: Permanent Full-time, 76 hours per fortnightLocation: Kirwan Health Campus, Townsville What's on offer?Remuneration package of up to $132,567 p.a.
Salary range: $79,051 to $116,189 p.a.
(+ applicable allowances/benefits) (HP3).4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading and 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.Plus Salary Sacrificing options and flexible working arrangements may be available.About the role Deliver Social Work assessment, treatment and interventions as part of the multi-disciplinary team, on an individual and group basis, for consumers who require rehabilitation and ABI mental health services, utilising evidence-based principles, whilst being responsive to the needs of families, significant others and the wider community.Participate in the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols relating to mental health rehabilitation and Social Work practice with particular reference to a recovery focus and discharge planning.
Participate in clinical education and practice supervision for students and other staff, when appropriate to level of experience.
Provide direction to assistant or support staff.Undertake professional supervision and development, as agreed with the Professional Senior Social Workers, to ensure ongoing development and provision of quality client care.
Participate in individual performance appraisal facilitated by the Nurse Unit Manager and the Professional Senior Social Workers.Role requirements The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification from an accredited tertiary institution in Social Work, as well as eligibility for full membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).This position requires the incumbent to operate a class "C" motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required.Please refer to the role description for further details. About the unitThe Townsville Community Care and Acquired Brain Injury Unit has accommodation for 34 consumers and provides a safe, respectful environment for rehabilitation with the goal of return to independent living in the community.
