Tax Accountant - Intermediate to Senior Level
UHY Haines Norton Perth is a well-established medium sized accounting firm located in West Perth.
We provide Accounting, Taxation, Self-Managed Superannuation and Business Advisory services to our clientele.
UHY Haines Norton has both International and National affiliations that will allow you to work with a diverse client base spanning a wide variety of industries.
We are currently seeking a driven and detail-oriented Intermediate or Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis.
About the role
As an Intermediate or Senior Accountant, you will work closely with partners and managers and will be a key player in delivering high-quality services to our clientele.
Based on your level of experience, your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following responsibilities:
Prepare and review financial statements and income tax returns for all entities;
Prepare and review quarterly and/or monthly activity statements;
Prepare other statutory returns including Fringe Benefits Tax, Payroll Tax and Land Tax;
Assist with tax planning and advisory projects for clients;
Prepare clear and concise work papers as evidence of work performed;
Provide advice in relation to various tax matters including GST, capital gains tax and fringe benefits tax;
Identify and research various tax and accounting issues;
Assist Graduate Accountants with their work and act as a mentor/buddy;
Communicate effectively with clients and liaise with ATO and other government bodies.
Skills and Experience
Minimum 2-5 years taxation and business services experience in an accounting firm;
Completed, or in the process of completing, CA or equivalent;
Strong technical skills in accounting, taxation and business advisory;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;
A team player with a friendly approach to fellow staff and clients is paramount;
Strong commitment to quality service and client relationships;
