Description Propeller is on a mission to take the guesswork out of moving dirt - reducing wasted fuel, time, and money.

Our customers use Propeller's integrated hardware and software products to capture accurate 3D versions of their worksites using drones.
With over 50,000 worksites worldwide using Propeller's smart survey technology, we empower project teams to map, measure, and manage site activity.

Your Mission At Propeller, our goal is to deliver solutions that make an impact on our customers and you will be joining a team that plays a vital role in achieving that.
You'll be jumping into our Core team, part of our platform group, to build the technical foundations behind all of Propeller's software including core infrastructure and services, service-to-service communication, developer platforms, design systems and other shared capabilities that will be used across our engineering teams to build great customer experiences.
Our Core team has the unique opportunity to actively drive and enhance all engineering across Propeller and impact important technical decisions across the company.
The team's experience is broad, as are the technologies they use from application development in Python and Typescript, to broad infrastructure development on AWS using Terraform.
One of your first focuses will be improving the authentication process that our customers experience, ensuring that we are able to cater to all the different sizes of customers we have across all the devices that they engage us with.
As we have grown our engineering capabilities significantly over the past few years, so has the importance of our developer experience.
In this role, you will also be involved in building out processes and systems which makes Propeller a great place to be a software engineer
The key to being successful in this role is that you enjoy impacting customers as much as you enjoy improving the lives of your colleagues.
Your Skills You have strong backend engineering experience and extensive commercial experience working in Python, bonus points for any Javascript experience but if not we will invest in you to grow these over time.
You have experience building and/or instrumenting developer tooling to help improve the developer experience of those around you.
You're competent with AWS or any other similar cloud provider.
You're a natural at stakeholder management and have strong project leadership skills.

Experience working in Django will be beneficial in upcoming projects.
