Project Development Manager

Vestas have released an exciting new position and are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Project Developer to join our innovative team working on projects in NSW.This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with 3 years or more of experience in project development to drive wind energy projects from origination through to financial close.The Project Development Manager will be a key part of the Vestas Australian Development team and will work across multiple early, middle and late stage wind development projects. The role will ideally be located in Melbourne or Sydney, and will involve travel to project sites across Australia.As the successful candidate you will play a key role in progressing development of projects from feasibility to financial close, and will require a blend of technical, commercial, financial, environmental, and legal acumen, as well as an appreciation of and dedication to landowner relationships and community engagement.The purpose of the role is to assist with development activities across land agreements, environmental permitting, grid connection, community engagement, financial modelling, offtake, funding. The role will also assist with due diligence of potential acquisition opportunities.ResponsibilitiesBuild relationships with host landowners and assist with negotiation and execution of licence, option, and easement agreements to secure land access.Identify, engage and manage environmental and technical consultants, legal advisors and other service providers as required to deliver required work products to advance development activities within target timeframes.Engage with local, state and federal permitting authorities and assist with preparation of environmental impact assessment studies and reports to secure permits for proposed development projects.Engage with NSPs, AEMO, consultants and internal teams to manage grid connection studies and connection application processes.Assist with community engagement through development and distribution of collateral, organization of community events, and presentation to stakeholders as required.Drive the development of technical designs to support land agreements, environmental permitting and financial modelling.QualificationsTechnical or engineering background with experience in project design, delivery and cost estimating.Demonstrated experience with commercial contracting and negotiation.Experience with grid connection and NSPs is highly valued.Self-motivated with excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills.Demonstrated ability to engage and build relationships with people.Positive, outgoing personality.High level of professionalism, confidentiality and discretion.Project development, commercial negotiation or project management experience.What We OfferA strong safety culture.Dynamic and fast-paced work environment.An opportunity to work with the world leader in wind energy.The opportunity to further develop your skills and professional development.Global career progression prospects.Join the World's Leading Wind Energy Solutions Provider.Excellent Career Development opportunities both Nationally and Globally.A workplace that embraces Diversity and Inclusion.13 weeks Paid Primary Carers Leave.3 weeks Paid Secondary Carers Leave.Employee Assistance Program.Vestas is an equal opportunity employer.
