We are currently looking for a Senior Consultant to join our team in Canberra.
Working at McGrathNicol, you will notice we do things a little differently.
You will work directly with, learn, and be mentored by, our experienced cyber team including former CISOs, Defence and Intelligence community senior leadership, national security advisors and leaders in cyber academia.
You will have the opportunity to work closely with peers in the cyber team (both technically and strategically), national security team and broader Canberra team on a myriad of opportunities, both locally and nationally.

In this role you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of a range of engagements, from strategy and risk to threat intelligence and technical advice, as well as being an active member of the team and supporting other matters such as cyber incidents, data privacy and investigative matters.
Closing Date26-November-2024What you will doQuantifying gaps in cyber resilience, maturity, or capability.Designing or executing strategies and programs to address known gaps or build governance capabilities.Measuring and assessing compliance against standards such as the NIST CSF, ISO27001, ISM and the ACSC Essential 8.Establishing cyber and privacy risk management programs.Assisting clients with incident response and recovery from cyber incidents.Contribute to successful digital forensics and eDiscovery engagements.Developing and enhancing third party and cyber supply chain security and resilience programs.Preparing detailed written reports, presentations, dashboards, and visualisations.Preparing and presenting your work as part of client briefings in person.Identify appropriate security controls and provide recommendations to enhance and deploy security solutions in complex production environments.Developing written proposals and deliverables independently and in teams.Work closely with our team members and clients, maintaining a professional and supportive environment including mentoring and developing those with less experience.Who you areHold a degree or similar qualification or demonstrated combination of training, certification, work experience and technical expertise.Developing proficiency and a passion for government cyber security, including the technical aspects of cyber/information security/information governance & privacy.Experience assisting with cyber related projects, such as conducting security risk assessments, reviewing maturity against frameworks, or assisting with incident/data breach response.Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.Ambition, drive, and determination.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Fantastic teamwork skills, a strong work ethic and ability to work under pressure.Due to the nature of work, applicants must be Australian citizens and currently hold a security clearance or be eligible to obtain one.What we offer youAt McGrathNicol, you will be part of an exciting, forward-thinking team that values innovation, diversity, and professional development.
