We are searching for a Head Chef to spearhead our kitchen operations, ensuring that every dish delights our guests and upholds our high standards of quality.
What You'll Be Doing: Take Command of the Kitchen: Lead all aspects of food preparation, from planning menus to overseeing cooking and service, ensuring every dish is a masterpiece.Innovate and Inspire: Develop creative new dishes while perfecting existing favourites, ensuring a diverse and exciting menu for our guests.Quality Assurance: Approve and refine dishes before they leave the kitchen, maintaining top-tier presentation and flavour in every bite.Team Leadership: Train, manage, and support kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement.Operational Oversight: Handle repairs, kitchen inventory, and ensure that all equipment is well-maintained.Safety and Standards: Champion safety, sanitation, and health regulations, ensuring compliance at all times and promoting hygienic practices across the team.Collaboration and Communication: Work Closely with Leadership: Communicate regularly with the Hotel Manager and owners to keep operations running smoothly and resolve any issues promptly.Team Coordination: Ensure all kitchen staff log in and out of the Deputy system for shifts and breaks, and that they're fully trained and equipped for success.Skills You'll Bring to the Table: Extensive knowledge of nutrition, food safety regulations, and sanitation practices.A track record of success in managing kitchen teams and driving culinary excellence.Proven ability to foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative environment among colleagues.Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.Why Join Us? Professional Growth: We value continuous learning and development.Dynamic Environment: Be part of a fast-paced, high-energy team that takes pride in delivering exceptional dining experiences.Great Work Culture: Work in a setting that emphasises respect, creativity, and teamwork.Potential for Sponsorship: Visa Sponsorship available.Key Responsibilities: Safety First: Ensure a safe working environment for yourself and the team, identifying and addressing hazards as they arise.Team Leadership: Supervise and support all kitchen staff, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.OHS Management: Actively participate in our Occupational Health and Safety Management system to maintain high safety standards.Culinary Excellence: Prepare and cook high-quality dishes following our menu guidelines and recipes, contributing to a memorable dining experience.Collaboration: Maintain clear communication between the kitchen and floor staff, fostering a harmonious workplace.Inventory Management: Oversee the receipt, storage, and organization of supplies, ensuring proper labelling and hygiene.Cost Control: Responsible for all food and labour costings.Food Safety: Adhere to all hygienic food handling practices and maintain cleanliness in line with our hotel's standards.Equipment Maintenance: Use and care for kitchen equipment responsibly, reporting any issues promptly to keep everything running smoothly.Documentation: Complete shift paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.Adaptability: Be ready to take on additional tasks as required, within the scope of your training and experience.What We're Looking For: Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Head Chef role.Qualifications: Commercial Cookery and Hospitality Management certification or equivalent.Work Rights: Must have Australian work rights.Location: Kent Town, SA 5067
Remuneration: $87,000 per year – Full time
