About The Royal Sydney Golf ClubThe Royal Sydney Golf Club, one of Australia's most prominent social and sporting institutions, is a private members club, proudly hosting a number of world-class sporting events including the Australian Open on 15 previous occasions.World-renowned architect Gil Hanse has delivered a fresh, innovative course design that reflects the original native heathland charm, ensuring 2025 will be an exciting and historic time as the Club re-opens its Championship Course alongside its 9-hole Centenary course.Other world-class facilities onsite include 18 tennis courts, bowling greens, croquet lawns, two squash courts, a gym, two pools, several cafes, a fine dining restaurant, accommodation rooms, and multiple function rooms.The RoleWe are seeking an energetic and passionate qualified Greenkeeper to join the team in what is an exciting period for the Club, as we reopen our Championship course.Reporting to the Course Superintendent, you will be involved in all aspects of turf maintenance required for the upkeep of the golf courses, lawn tennis courts, croquet, and bowling greens.
The diversity in playing surfaces at the Club offers unique development opportunities for ambitious sports turf professionals.This is a Full-Time position that requires predominantly weekday work; however, flexibility to work shifts on weekends is necessary.Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintenanceAssist with the operations and maintenance of both golf courses, lawn tennis courts, croquet lawns, and bowling greens.Assist with the maintenance, renovation, and reconstruction of all turf and garden areas.Apply fertilizers and pesticides as directed and complete fertilizer/pesticide application records.Carry out handheld spraying and boom spraying of weeds as required.Carry out landscaping duties as required.Set up the golf course for daily play and tournaments/club events.EquipmentSafely operate and maintain Turfcare equipment and operate other machinery or equipment requiring the holding of specialized licenses upon being trained.Report defects or damages to the Workshop Manager immediately to ensure machinery is fixed in a timely manner.Essential Requirements:Minimum Certificate III in Sports Turf Management or equivalent.Previous experience operating golf course machinery.Highly motivated with a strong work ethic.Excellent communication skills.Understanding requirements relating to WH&S and Environmental management on a golf course.Desirable:AQF3 Chemical spray certification or equivalent.Manual Driver's license.Work with UsAmple opportunities for Learning & Development including 24/7 access to an extensive learning platform.Staff wellbeing program including free exercise classes for staff in our state-of-the-art fitness facilities, golf lessons, tennis clinics, and access to our Employee Assistance Program.Daily staff meals.Uniforms provided plus uniform allowance.20% discount on purchases (e.g.
