About the role
We have an opportunity for a Senior Communications Officer to be part of our Radio Operations Group, Technology & Communication Services Command. The Senior Communications Officer is responsible for providing situational leadership to a work group of Communications Officers to task, coordinate and monitor the activities of police resources responding to incidents. The role also processes urgent and non-urgent telephone calls providing timely information to operational police to enable appropriate action to be taken.
An essential requirement of this role is completion of Communication Officer training course and attainment of Communications Officer fourth year increment and completion of Leadership in the Workplace training course or equivalent skills and qualifications.

Senior Communications Officers are considered first line, as such, they are responsible for managing various work groups within a Radio Operations Centre. Senior Communications Officers play a pivotal role in mentoring and developing junior staff within the workplace. Describe an instance where you had to address the poor performance of a fellow officer. How did you manage the situation and what was the outcome?
