We are seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager (GM) / Head of Marketing to drive the growth and development of our marketing strategies across multiple product lines and geographic regions.
This role requires a results-oriented leader capable of managing a diverse team and delivering innovative marketing solutions that align with our broader business objectives.
The GM Marketing will be responsible for marketplace management, marketing communications, product development, customer service, staff leadership, and financial oversight, with a key focus on achieving sales and profitability targets.
Position Overview: The GM Marketing will lead the development of national distribution and brand strategies, ensuring alignment with the company's sales and profit goals.
This position requires expertise in brand management, market research, advertising, promotional planning, and collaboration with internal stakeholders, including sales, product development, and customer service teams.
The role also involves managing marketing expenditures, building strong external relationships, and driving customer satisfaction initiatives.
Key Responsibilities: Marketplace Management: Develop and implement national strategies to increase market penetration, sales, and brand awareness.
Monitor competitor activities, industry trends, and emerging technologies to inform market strategies.
Provide market intelligence and tools to the sales team, supporting them with research to drive sales performance.
Commission and manage market research to guide promotional activities and product development.
Marketing Communications: Develop and execute advertising and promotional plans aligned with brand, segment, and geographic objectives.
Ensure advertising creatives meet brand standards, are accurate, and properly executed.
Foster strong relationships with advertising agencies and suppliers, ensuring timely production of promotional materials and POS collateral.
Collaborate with the sales team to support sales conferences, incentive programs, and trade show activities.
Manage local advertising initiatives and marketing expenditures, ensuring alignment with the budget and performance targets.
Product Development: Identify product improvements and innovations necessary to maintain market leadership.
Lead new product development projects and work closely with stakeholders to identify new business opportunities compatible with the brand's product range.
Oversee profitable product lifecycle management, ensuring timely delivery of new product features and cost targets.
Customer Service: Develop a formal customer satisfaction program to improve customer loyalty and address feedback.
Oversee the National VIP Dealer program and other dealer loyalty initiatives.
Ensure all national customer service activities are effectively coordinated to meet company and customer needs.
Staff Management: Lead and manage a high-performing team of marketing professionals, providing direction and fostering professional development.
Oversee performance reviews, ensure consistent budget achievement, and manage the marketing team's resources effectively.
Drive safety audits and other compliance activities to maintain a positive and efficient working environment.
Financial Management: Oversee marketing expenditure, ensuring it aligns with sales targets and remains within budget parameters.
Create accurate and realistic budget forecasts, providing monthly reports on expenses and performance against targets.
Collaborate with the finance department to optimize marketing investments for maximum ROI.
Key Stakeholder Relationships: Internal: Work closely with the Sales, Product Development, Customer Service, IT, and Finance teams to ensure alignment between marketing and business objectives.
External: Build relationships with customers, suppliers, advertising agencies, media outlets, and industry associations to enhance brand presence and market reach.
Qualifications and Experience: A bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
Extensive experience in brand and campaign management, including national marketing programs and product management.
Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and drive measurable business outcomes.
Expertise in developing and executing marketing strategies, including digital and traditional marketing channels.
Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering complex marketing initiatives on time and within budget.
Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
The ideal candidate will possess a strategic mindset, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to innovate within the competitive landscape.
