Facilities Supervisor, Shared ServicesJob: 2024-184 | Full-Time | Fixed Term | Redfern, NSWAssist the Facilities and Fleet Manager to source new leasehold propertiesManage and coordinate all day-to-day issues associated with ALS facilitiesWe offer a not-for-profit salary packaging which maximises your take-home payPrimary Purpose of the RoleThe purpose of this role is to ensure that the Aboriginal Legal Service (NSW/ACT) Limited (ALS) has suitable premises throughout NSW and the ACT from where it can deliver its services to its clients.
To do so, the job holder will ensure that the buildings are maintained to required standards including compliance with various statutory building and occupancy codes, and the accommodation is comfortable for both ALS employees and volunteers, clients, and visitors.

Born out of a protest movement over 50 years ago, the ALS is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation delivering high-quality, culturally safe legal and support services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in NSW and the ACT.

The Facilities Supervisor will be responsible for:
Manage and coordinate all day-to-day issues associated with ALS facilities, including maintenance to buildings, air conditioning requirements, security card access and parking managementReview all ALS leasehold arrangements and ensure landlords and their agents fulfil their responsibilities for leasehold maintenance in a timely manner and to a high standardAssist the Facilities and Fleet Manager to develop organisational systems and procedures for facilities management including the development of standardised forms and reports to be used in connection with the inspection and maintenance of the facilities.Provide leadership and support to the Facilities Coordinator through regular and meaningful communication of ALS operating and strategic plans, operational needs; agree and set performance goals and development plans; monitor and support expected performance; manage leave and team resourcing; allocate and review tasks.Build effective relationships with stakeholders through timely management of tasks and issues, regular communication and quality workAbout YouWe're looking for someone who brings:
Experience managing and interpreting building leases and Services Contracts and the ability to negotiate favourable terms for ALSKnowledge of building and occupancy regulations in NSW and the ACT and federallyBroad knowledge of building maintenance and experience in selecting and managing external contractors to deliver high quality results within budgets and timeframes.Strong understanding of Workplace Health and Safety issues in the workplaceExperience developing and explaining project plans, budgets and timelinesPre-Employment RequirementsALS is committed to implementing safe recruitment practices.
