The CompanyOur client is a global leader in urban and interurban transport, with operations in 15 countries and over 27,000 employees. They specialise in operating, maintaining, and consulting on transport networks, aiming to provide reliable and efficient solutions worldwide. In Australia, they are part of a consortium partnering with the NSW Government on a major metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney, delivered under a Public-Private Partnership model to boost the region's economy.
The RoleAs a Commercial Manager your role is pivotal in overseeing the commercial aspects of the Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport project. This includes managing the O&M contract for the driverless metro line, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and optimising financial performance. You will collaborate closely with consortium partners to align commercial strategies and achieve project objectives. Additionally, you will lead negotiations, manage risks, and implement cost control measures to ensure the project's success over its 15-year operational period.
ResponsibilitiesContract Management: Oversee the O&M contract, ensuring adherence to terms and conditions, and manage any variations or disputes that may arise.Financial Oversight: Develop and implement financial strategies to maximize profitability, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control measures.Risk Management: Identify potential commercial risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect the consortium's interests.Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, including government agencies, to ensure alignment with project goals and compliance with regulatory requirements.Performance Monitoring: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the project's commercial success and implement continuous improvement initiatives.RequirementsProven experience in commercial management within large-scale infrastructure projects, ideally in the rail or transport sector.Strong background in managing contracts, budgets, and financial performance.Demonstrated expertise in negotiating complex contracts, particularly in a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) or consortium environment.In-depth understanding of regulatory and legal compliance within infrastructure projects.Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and collaborating with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and align multiple partners.Relevant tertiary qualifications in law, construction, or a related field.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.If you're ready to take the next step in your career, apply now or contact ****** for more details.
