The Queensland Building and Construction Commission is seeking a passionate and skilled Certification Technical Lead to take the reins in ensuring top-notch building work standards. In this exciting, permanent role, you'll lead the charge in audits, investigate complaints about Building Certifiers, and contribute to shaping policy and legislation to improve the industry. You'll work closely with the Manager Certification to drive continuous improvements and uphold excellence and compliance across Queensland's building sector. If you're all about making a difference and leading the way in technical expertise, we want to hear from youThis position is located in Brisbane and the successful candidate will need to enter into a Flexible Work Arrangement upon commencement to reflect the office location you are seeking to work from. If working from a regional office, travel to the Brisbane office will be required regularly (frequency to be negotiated with successful candidate) to fulfil operational business needs.In this dynamic role, you'll provide expert technical advice and support to the Certification Unit, particularly in investigating building certifiers' conduct. Your leadership will foster the development of skills within the team, enhancing overall performance. You'll lead strategic audits to ensure compliance with regulations and standards, manage complex complaints, and offer high-level recommendations to management and key stakeholders. You'll also drive continuous improvements and contribute to the development and review of policies, procedures, and systems within the Certification Unit. Additionally, you will represent the QBCC in judicial proceedings, providing expert testimony and legislative interpretations.As a leader, you'll identify and address potential high-risk issues while maintaining professionalism and following state government policies. You'll engage with national, state, and local government agencies and industry representatives, increasing awareness of QBCC's aims and promoting cooperation. Your expertise will be critical in providing consultancy services to consumers and stakeholders, advocating for better building standards, and educating the industry on certification matters.
