Josh's Rainbow Eggs is more than just a farm; we are a medium sized business, being the fifth largest proprietary egg brand in the country, and a growing reputable brand, with a team of over 30.
We supply premium eggs to over 250 Coles and Woolworths stores across Victoria.
We pride ourselves on our commitment to agricultural innovation, utilising advanced technology for monitoring and reporting.
We use the latest technologies and have created our own monitoring systems, giving us 24-hour visibility across our farm operations, so our management can respond immediately to any concerns.
About the Role: You become part of this growing reputable brand stepping into a key leadership position, working alongside the CEO.
As Farm Operations Manager , you'll be actively involved in, and lead daily operations, maintaining high production standards.
You are responsible for a team of 6-12 across the farm, field, equipment and maintenance – including contractors, suppliers and intra-team management.
You will liaise daily with the CEO, contributing to the continued growth of our brand while balancing hands-on farm operations with strategic improvements.
Duties include: Farm Operations: Plan and drive team accountability of daily scheduled and unscheduled tasks, manage daily yield, maintain and improve operation standards and maximise use of digital data to optimise operations.
Lead People: Fully immersed with team communication, supporting their effectiveness and task management, driven through Monday.com.
Farm Maintenance: Monitor and maintain farm equipment, oversee basic repairs, coordinate scheduled maintenance, and manage external providers.
Farm Development: Manage farm rotations and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Yields and Process Adherence: Maintain high attention to detail in yield monitoring and adhere strictly to processes in this fast-paced environment.
Team Leadership: Manage and develop a team of approximately 6 direct reports, plus contractors as required, fostering collaboration and ensuring seamless operations between the farm and our egg grading room.
About You: We're looking for someone wanting hands-on involvement within farm operations, with the skills to lead within a high-paced and demanding agriculture environment.
Ideal candidates will have: Ideally, relevant tertiary qualifications in agriculture, farm management, veterinary, business management or a related field.
Experience in farm or primary production management or intensive agriculture.
Good numeracy and literacy skills.
A passion for agriculture and producing quality food.
A successful track record of leading, educating, inspiring, and holding a team accountable.
The ability to develop and drive industry-leading analytics now and into the future.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
A collaborative, solutions-focused mindset and a genuine love for farming.
A strong aptitude for problem-solving, critical thinking, and the ability to think outside the box.
An incredible eye for detail and a strong desire to maintain standards.
