WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: Provide day-to-day support and maintenance for Microsoft SQL Server 2019/2022 databases for our platformThis includes, but is not limited to: administration, analysis, support, proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, recoverability, failover, security, installation, and designTroubleshoot challenging performance issues, develop proactive measures, and trend analysisCommunicate Real-time updates on database events and issues to users and development teamsMonitor database events, investigate potential problems and issues raised by users, and continuously optimize system performance through troubleshooting and tuningWork with engineering teams to automate processes and promote rapid response to database issuesDesign and develop proactive tools and measures to optimize performance and take our platform to the next level of scaleMonitor ongoing capacity and implement design and architecture changes as needed to improve global availabilityMaintain database configurations in compliance with established best practicesDesign and implement systems, policies, and procedures for backup and disaster recoveryInstall upgrades and patches to existing database serversDesign and develop database code as neededOwn and execute projects end to endReview and establish database migration processesParticipate in on-call rotations (every 2-3 months)WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE: 5+ years of Database Administration experience supporting mission critical relational databasesProficiency with OLTP Database Environments.Good knowledge of relational database engine internals is a strong plus.Excellent performance optimization/tuning skills required.Considerable experience and knowledge of MSSQL 2019 or above and best practicesProgramming experience with PowerShell is desirable but not required.Programming experience with C#/.NET is a big plus, but not requiredExperience configuring and administering MSSQL replication, Availability Groups, and Distributed Availability Groups, and Failover Clustering is desirable but not required.AWS Database Management, OLAP experience, and PostgresSQL experience are a plus, but not required.Dashboard creation using Grafana is a plus.Full systems lifecycle experience (from requirements gathering to delivery) of database projectsExperience designing, building, installing, configuring, supporting, and maintaining high-volume, large database systemsTop-notch troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skillsExperience with database design and management aspects for various compliance programs, such as Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) or PCI, is a big plusExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to document complex technical problems#LI-DNI
