Contribute to meaningful project for a passionate, well renowned, and collegiate team Full time, fixed term for 2 years Base salary $108,557 + 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Biostatistician provides deep technical knowledge and project management support to the Chief Investigator and collaborates with academics and research professionals to support the research and/or clinical trial requirements for the work area specifically providing biostatistical capacity.
This includes actively leading and contributing to the statistical aspect of research activities, designing research protocols, undertaking critical aspects of research work including formation of analysis and key findings.
Collates and records research data, draws insights and analyses, reports information from the research undertaken and may work with the Chief Investigator and/or Senior Academics to source grant funding.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Take a lead role in the collection of research data and prepare statistical analyses and insights for inclusion in projects and reports.
Undertake complex research and prepare analysis on key areas of focus, under broad guidance of the Chief Investigator and in collaboration with other senior research staff.
Support the Chief Investigator/Supervisor in the development of the research project's objectives.
Source information, research, and prepare the statistics required in drafts for research publications and presentations including preparing literary reviews and carrying out theoretical research to support the overall research objectives.
Undertake ad-hoc projects and other activities.
About you Working experience in statistical program design.
Experience working with large datasets and linked data.
Experience as a statistician.
Capacity to work in a collaborative multidisciplinary research team.
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of relevant training/experience.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills and an extraordinary level of empathy and discretion in dealing with day-to-day operational matters.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement and ability to prioritize workload during busy periods.
