The RoleMake a difference in our community
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Whittlesea Council Building Services Team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and team-focused Building Inspector to assist in the provision of a professional and reliable proactive building compliance program, ensuring they are implemented and completed, whilst other concurrent enforcement and compliance duties are undertaken and delivered in a cost-effective manner. Furthermore, the City of Whittlesea offers a Building Permit service where the role will provide support in undertaking mandatory inspections on a regular basis, where necessary to assist the permit team and the building permits inspector.
About youYou are experienced in building control matters and will have the following experience and attributes:
Registration with the VBA as a Building Inspector in the relevant category
Prior experience as a Building Inspector in Local Government or the private building industry
Highly developed research, analytical, oral, and written communication skills
Demonstrated commitment to providing a high level of customer service
An understanding of risk management principles and ability to implement these principles
