Account & Relationship Management (Banking & Financial Services) Senior Financial Accountant - Perth CBD / Permanent - Full Time Are you an experienced financial professional with a knack for process innovation and technical expertise?
We are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to lead our financial reporting and drive improvements across key systems.
In this role, you'll manage technical accounting, optimise processes, and collaborate with stakeholders to support strategic decision-making, all while ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards.
Your Role in Action Technical Accounting: Stay up to date with the latest accounting standards and deliver high-quality financial reporting and analysis.
Ensure accuracy and compliance in all financial documentation, adhering to deadlines.System Expertise: Manage and master our financial systems to produce timely and accurate reporting in line with Australian Accounting Standards and regulatory requirements.Process Improvement: Drive financial process enhancements, automate key functions, and optimise our general ledger to improve accuracy and efficiency.Stakeholder Collaboration: Provide expert financial insights and advice to support strategic business decisions, ensuring alignment with our broader objectives.Financial Controls: Lead initiatives to strengthen financial controls, addressing systemic issues and improving processes.Adaptability: Respond proactively to changing business environments, including updating financial information and adapting to new accounting standards.Reporting Excellence: Manage month-end and year-end reporting processes, including audit preparation, ensuring data integrity and timely reporting.Business Support: Assist with critical business needs, including capitalisation, credit risk analysis, and valuation reporting.What Makes You a Great Fit Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, or Commerce.Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or equivalent certification.Extensive experience in public practice or commercial accounting.In-depth knowledge of financial accounting processes, with excellent knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Proven experience with year-end audit processes and preparation of financial statements and reports.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.A proactive, solution-oriented approach to challenges.By joining Western Power, you will contribute to powering a cleaner energy future.
