Ravenswood School for Girls is a Uniting Church Prep to Year 12 day and boarding school for girls located on Sydney's North Shore. It is a school where staff enjoy a range of benefits that foster health and wellbeing, and students achieve outstanding academic success supported by innovative teaching practices that are underpinned by a whole school approach to Positive Education.We are currently seeking a casual Library Technician to join our Learning Resources Department at Ravenswood. Flexibility to work from 3 pm to 9 pm on weekdays during term time and 9 am to 3 pm during school holidays is desirable. We will be able to work with the successful candidate regarding their availability and the shifts available.The Library Technician is an integral member of the Ravenswood Learning Resource Centre (LRC) team and works with the Head of LRC, the Teacher Librarians, and the Library Technicians. This role involves liaising with students, staff, parents, and suppliers to provide an efficient and welcoming service within the school community. The Library Technician may be required to work in both the Junior and Senior libraries, contributing to a collaborative and positive environment in the LRC. A growth mindset and a responsible, ethical approach to all aspects of this position are essential.Role ResponsibilitiesA genuine passion for literacy and education in a school contextEstablishing and/or monitoring day-to-day systems and workflows in consultation with library team membersFamiliarity with automated library systems and procedures, alongside strong ICT skills and a willingness to learn innovative technologiesProviding Information Desk duty at lunchtime, after school, and during class visits, ensuring a high level of serviceMonitoring and assisting students in the library and supporting research activitiesContributing to library activities, displays, and promotions in a creative and collaborative mannerA degree or diploma qualification in Librarianship or Library and Information Management is preferredTo Apply: Please include a cover letter as the first page of your resume outlining your suitability for the role.Ravenswood School for Girls is dedicated to maintaining a child-safe environment and is committed to the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of children.Shortlisted applicants will be required to provide the School with their Working With Children Check number and First Aid Qualifications in order to be eligible for this position.It is not a requirement of employment to be vaccinated for COVID-19.
