Located on Gadigal and Bidjigal land (Randwick, NSW), Black Dog Institute is the only Medical Research Institute in Australia to investigate mental health across the full lifespan, aiming to create a mentally healthier world for everyone.
Through effective communications, we lead Australia's population health response to suicide prevention and champion the ongoing conversation of mental health in our society.

Hybrid work, 1-2 days per week in office (choose your days, consistent team collaboration days where possible) Salary Packaging: $15,900.00 of your base salary tax free & up to $2650.00 meal & entertainment 35 hours per week and access to 9-day fortnight benefit Family first, people first culture, we put our research into action at work to maintain mental health and wellbeing Pet friendly workplace Leave benefits including public holiday swap, gifted annual leave, and wellbeing leave The Role The key purpose of the Therapy Manager includes providing leadership and coordination of therapy within Black Dog Institute's digital intervention research projects for childhood depression and anxiety.
The Therapy Manager will provide high-level clinical assessment and therapy to enrolled participants, alongside coordinating the therapy team.
The role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and enthusiastic team made up of psychologists, research and support staff.
The role will primarily involve managing a team of therapists to provide therapy as part of a guided digital intervention to research participants who are children.
The role will also provide therapy itself.

Duties & Responsibilities • Coordination of a team of psychologists
• Provision of manualised CBT via telehealth to research participants across the Black Dog Institute's Child Mental Health projects
• Supervision and conduct of assessments
• Provision of administrative and clerical duties associated with the provision of therapy and attendance at research and other meetings where necessary
• Communicate effectively with research participants utilising appropriate formal and informal channels
• Provide crisis support as needed
• Provide therapy and clerical duties according to agreed protocols, responsibilities and timelines
• Undertake all relevant mandatory training
• Cooperate with all health and safety policy and procedures of the Institute and take all reasonable care to ensure your actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of yourself and others.
Note: the list of responsibilities is not exhaustive, and the Institute may change or request additional activities to meet the operational needs of the business.

Skills & Experience Required • Relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology (5+1 and 4+2 pathways).
• AHPRA registration as a Registered Psychologist.
• Experience in delivering therapy to children up to 12 years old.
• Current working with children and national police checks or willingness to obtain.
• Previous experience with research projects is desirable.
• Experience in people management is desirable.
• Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
• An understanding of and commitment to BDI's aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
• Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
