The Neonatal and Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (NPICU) in the new K Block campus of the RHH boasts a contemporary single room design across SCN, HDU, NICU & PICU.
The unit consists of 28 beds focused on providing families with a true Family Integrated Care Model.

The Role: The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) is an experienced nurse who, within the defined area of practice:
Works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other senior staff, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.Assists the NUM with the planning and management of staff and resources and provides operational leadership through the coordination of day-to-day patient care activities, including patient flow.You will need: Demonstrated clinical experience in the relevant practice area, with the capacity to provide clinical leadership, exercise professional judgement and initiative and work with minimal supervision.Demonstrated ability to understand the business of the unit/service in delivering the best outcomes within available resources, including an understanding of patient flow principles and discharge planning.Demonstrated ability to contribute to the evaluation, innovation and development of services provided by the unit/service and the review of clinical practice policy, procedures and protocols.Note: Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.
Details of appointment: Multiple permanent, full-time or part-time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $106,570 to $112,440 per annum (Pro rata).
Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.Benefits available to eligible candidates: Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.Professional development and accelerated pathways.Excellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro-rata), 20 days personal leave (pro-rata), and study assistance leave if eligible.Fitness Passport – You and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family.Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
