The role We are seeking an experienced Head of Strength and Conditioning to commence in 2025.
Reporting to the Director of Sport, the Head of Strength & Conditioning is responsible for the ongoing development and coordination of the BGS Strength & Conditioning Program to ensure positive health and wellbeing outcomes for the BGS community.
As Head of Strength and Conditioning, you will be responsible for: The development of a whole school S&C program aimed at developing the physical wellbeing of the school population. Coordination of the S&C program of each sport, ensuring students are conditioned effectively for the requirements of their sport. Coordinate and manage the workloads of elite student athletes through the development of an Elite Sports Program. Develop and run a Physical Education Program for students in Years 7-10 aimed at developing safe practice and increasing knowledge. Develop and implement a whole staff and community physical wellbeing program. Facilitate Professional Learning sessions for Sport and PE Staff. Day to day management of the fitness facility including monitoring of class bookings, ensuring equipment is in appropriate working order at all times, and ensuring a tidy, hazard-free environment. Coordinate the class timetable and casual staff roster. Manage external requests for use of the facility. Ensure safe, stimulating and age-appropriate strength and conditioning sessions are facilitated for students and staff before and after the school day. To be successful and thrive in this position you will require: Relevant experience in a similar position together with further qualification in Exercise Sport Science (i.e.
Bachelor's degree). Demonstrated experience facilitating group training/fitness sessions with teenagers and adults. Proven ability to motivate and build strong rapport with teenagers to enhance their fitness and overall wellbeing. Knowledge of current trends in long-term athletic development. A current Working with Children Check is essential for this position.
