We're looking for a quintessential design brand representative to take charge of coordinating the proper design representation of the brand into physical form at the Hotel. This exciting role is responsible for maintaining the brand's aesthetic and quality expectations. Areas of responsibility range from furniture items, small construction projects, signage, maintenance of existing design, assisting in design development, visual aids, uniforms and anything that is style and creatively related which enhances the personality and image of the property.Join an exciting pre-opening Hotel team and the most powerful international brand in the Boutique Hotel business, into the Australian Hotel scene. The Standard's irreverent and playful sensibility, combined with a careful consideration of design, detail and service, have established its reputation as a pioneer of hospitality, travel, dining, nightlife and beyond.WE#anythingbutstandardDuties & ResponsibilitiesWork closely with the Management team to collaboratively ensure all space meets specified standards and all public areas are "in show" status at all times.Collaborate with Housekeeping, Engineering, and Food & Beverage teams to ensure consistent interior design standards are met and all rooms, displays, floor layouts, structures, signage, and any event setups are up to visual standards.Lead weekly property tours with department heads reporting on all projects impacting guest experience.Assist in clear and accurate reporting of the above projects amongst all departments on an ongoing basis.Execution of all design related projects specified by the SIM design team - sourcing material, price, comparison, vendor selection and budget maintenance.Create instruction manuals for proper maintenance of spaces when needed.Scheduling, follow up, and oversight of outside vendor projects in a courteous, efficient, and professional manner.Process and tracking of Purchase Orders and check requests.Coordination of furniture placement, landscaping maintenance, tools and materials needed for the entire property.Work closely with the marketing team throughout the development and execution of physical and creative setups of activations and events.Maintenance, organization and inventory of all fixtures, furniture, and equipment assets on and off property.Compiling a checklist of public spaces and guest rooms to review with the Director of Design.Coordinate on-site installations and communicate scheduled work with relevant in-house departments.Source new and replacement materials for projects (locally, nationally, or internationally).Ability to thrive in a very fast paced environment and commit to project needs/expectations on an individual basis – adapting, accepting and applying immediate changes.Experience, Qualifications & Skills3 - 5 years of previous interior design experienceDegree in a design or art field requiredProficient in Adobe Creative Suites, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Sketchup (and/or comparable programs such as Vectorworks, Rhino/3D software)Ability to effectively communicate creative concepts, invention and ideas with staff and management.Highly organized, extreme attention to detail while multi-taskingAbility to work alone or with a team while having a positive attitudeFull understanding or Architecture and Interiors, with a keen eye for DesignThe StandardWe are not for everyone …. but everyone is welcome.The Standard ValuesUnconventional & Compassionate | Individuality & Teamwork | Creative & PragmaticTo apply - please email your CV and cover letter to HR ****** applicants must have the right to work in Australia.
