The Project Manager is responsible for supporting health sector financial sustainability via several initiatives including revenue optimisation, and capability improvement initiatives.
This position is pivotal in a specialist unit dedicated to driving financial improvement and capability across Victoria's health services.
The Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of complex initiatives with both analytical and engagement components.
This role requires a highly organised and results-oriented individual with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
The Project Manager will lead all aspects of project planning and execution, including developing and managing project schedules, budgets, and resources.
They will build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensure effective communication and collaboration, and proactively identify and mitigate risks.
The Project Manager will also oversee procurement activities, provide high-level administrative support, and contribute to continuous improvement within the project management function.

Written Communication and Presentation Skills - Prepares complex briefs, letters, emails and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct language; edits written communications to ensure they contain the information necessary to achieve their purpose and meet audience needs; ensures appropriate style and formats are used.
Personal Qualities Conceptual and Analytical Ability - Deals with concepts and complexity comfortably; uses analytical and conceptual skills to reason through problems; has creative ideas and can project how these can link to innovations.
Relationship Building - Establishes and maintains relationships with people at all levels; promotes harmony and consensus through diplomatic handling of disagreements; forges useful partnerships with people across business areas, functions and organisations; builds trust through consistent actions, values and communication; minimises surprises.

Qualifications / Specialist Expertise Qualifications - An appropriate tertiary qualification in project management, health, accounting, commerce, economics, political science, public administration or public policy.
A high degree of understanding and knowledge of the Victorian budget processes, health service delivery, health system funding, relevant departmental systems and environments is desirable.
Specialist Expertise - Exceptional advisory, negotiation, communication and relationship building skills, with demonstrated capacity to work effectively within a politically sensitive context.
Knowledge of the Victorian public hospital operations, and the impact of government funding, policy and reform on operations.
