Business Development & Marketing Advisor - Public Sector Corporate Services | Business Development & Communications | Sydney, Newcastle
We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development & Marketing Advisor - dedicated to our Public Sector Group to join our growing national Business Development, Marketing & Communications team in Sydney or Newcastle.
The Business Development, Marketing and Communications section is a national team, with a broad set of skills and experience across client engagement, branding and design, bid management, copywriting, event strategy and planning, digital marketing and media relations.
This position suits an established Business Development & Marketing Advisor, or an experienced Business Development & Marketing Co-ordinator ready take a step-up within a large, national law firm.
This role will be responsible for actioning business development, marketing and communication requests for the Public Sector Industry Group.
Key responsibilities advising the Sydney and Newcastle Partners in Charge on strategic firm brand promotion, business development and marketing; working with partners and senior lawyers personal brand and practice development strategies; identifying business development opportunities for the Sydney and Newcastle markets; advising and supporting initiatives for key commercial clients; working with the Bids & Pursuits team on firm and commercial tender submissions; leading a range of other opportunistic bids, such as proposals and capability statements; directory and award submissions; working with the Communications team to identify and action external profiling opportunities; leading relevant business and industry association relationships, including sponsorships; working with the Events team on client, sector and national firm events.
Skills and experience 4+ years' experience gained in a similar marketing and/or business development position (professional services ideal); demonstrated knowledge working with, and marketing to, government (ideally to NSW state and/or local government); tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline; ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with key firm stakeholders and clients; strong influencing and negotiation skills; proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Word, Excel and PowerPoint; excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact at all levels; excellent written and communication skills; ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines; team player; and proactive and strong problem-solving abilities.
