About the role
Our Principal Safety and Compliance Officers are passionate about serving the community and making a difference.
They manage teams of enforcement operations staff, with the support of our Senior Safety and Compliance Officers.
Key to the role is providing leadership to your teams by striving for continuous improvement, and implementing and coordinating operational plans, outputs and outcomes.
You will support leaders and encourage staff to be open to new ways of working.
You will work cohesively across your teams, the broader Operations division and throughout the heavy vehicle industry to ensure the effective delivery of on-road activities and road safety initiatives.
This role manages a team based in Penrith.
Flexibility to occasionally work outside normal hours and travel intrastate to connect with the broader division is a part of the role.

About you
Strong experience in leading and managing large teams including managing sensitive matters (WHS incidents and performance or disciplinary issues), resources, budget and operational infrastructure.
High level interpersonal and communication skills are required to deliver excellent customer service, foster effective relationships and handle potential conflict with both internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated expert knowledge of relevant road transport laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Must hold relevant automotive mechanical trade qualifications acceptable to the Industrial and Commercial Training Council of NSW.
