We invite you to become a valued part of the Integrity and Assurance team at the Victorian Catholic Education Authority as an Assurance Advisor, Complaints.
The RoleNestled within Education and Integrity, our Assurance and Integrity team is a dedicated group passionate about upholding and maintaining the highest standards in education. Working together to ensure that Victorian Catholic schools and boarding facilities not only meet but exceed regulatory requirements.
As a part of this dynamic and collaborative team, you will play a vital role in safeguarding the educational experience of thousands of students throughout Victoria.
Assurance Advisor, School Complaints is a newly created position offering an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the compliance landscape within Victorian Catholic schools, helping to ensure good governance, strong financial management, effective curriculum, sound teaching practices, and safe environments for children.
This role assists in ensuring that VCEA fulfills its responsibilities as a review body under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA).
Responsibilities include:
Management of escalated complaints to VCEA;Assessment of compliance with minimum standards and other requirements for registration in the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 and regulations (Minimum Standards);Promotion of compliance and stakeholder engagement.Why work with VCEAAs the peak body for Catholic education in Victoria, VCEA provides employees an opportunity to help shape the future of Catholic education across the state.

What you'll bringUnderstanding and knowledge of key legislative and regulatory frameworks, such as a working knowledge of Education and Training Reform Act 2006 and Education and Training Reform Regulations 2017 would be held in high regard.
Experience in navigating compliance frameworks, with an ability for ensuring adherence to standards.
An understanding of risk frameworks, coupled with analytical skills to identify and mitigate potential issues.
A passion for client care and customer service. Stellar interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills will position you for success. You will bring a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with diverse stakeholders, using an empathy-led approach to address issues as they arise in a professional and considerate manner.
You'll need to have a sharp eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to assess risks and provide practical, solution-focused advice. With a proactive mindset, you'll thrive both independently and collaboratively, meeting deadlines, managing competing priorities, and contributing to the success of the team.

Qualifications and ExperienceRelevant tertiary qualification in risk, audit, compliance, legal, or other relevant field.
Experience in a customer service, complaint handling, government, or regulatory environment.
A minimum of two years' experience in education administration, law, compliance, risk, or a related field.
