Management - Schools (Education & Training) The primary functions of the Business Manager are the sound financial management and strategic planning of the Southern Montessori Education Centre Incorporated (Centre) and to manage the non-classroom activities of the Centre.
The Business Manager is responsible for supervising and controlling auxiliary departments, the maintenance and development of buildings, grounds and equipment.
Position : Business Manager (5-Month Contract)
Contract : 1.0 Full-Time, 5-Month Contract (Extended Leave Relief)
Hours : 7.5 hours / day, 5 days / week (Some out-of-hours work required)
Commencement : Immediately, subject to negotiation
Salary : $120K-$150K per annum pro-rata (based on experience)
Probation : 3-month probation period
Location : Southern Montessori School (Independent, non-denominational school following Montessori philosophy)
Key Responsibilities : Oversee financial management, including budgeting, financial reporting, and cash flow management. Manage payroll, personnel, and property maintenance. Advise the Principal and Board on strategic financial planning and development. Lead financial audits, report to the Board, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Supervise non-classroom activities and ensure the school's facilities and grounds are well-maintained. Act as co-convenor of the Risk & Compliance Committee. Essential Qualifications : Business / Accounting qualifications (Advanced Diploma or higher preferred). Prior school experience required; FACTS (formerly PCSchool) experience preferred. Additional certifications (First Aid, Risk & Neglect Training, Mandatory Notification). Skills and Experience : Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills. Proficiency in accounting software and financial planning. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively. Strong organisational, record-keeping, and time management skills.
