This opens up a world of possibilities for our clients – and also opens up a host of career opportunities for youOur growing family of services at EverAbility Group include:VisAbility - our specialised service supporting people with blindness or vision impairment.Guide Dogs WA and Guide Dogs Tasmania – our iconic service raising and training life changing assistance dogs.Kites Children's Therapy – our early intervention support, advice and solutions service transforming the lives of children and their families living with disability or developmental challenges.Perron Place - our innovative and collaborative community centre.Job DescriptionJoin our team as a permanent part-time (0.8FTE) Occupational Therapist conducting assessments, offering advice to enhance daily living activities, providing support for aids, equipment, and assistive technology, and delivering practical support aligned with EverAbility's mission, vision, and values.Key responsibilities and accountabilitiesContribute to an integrated, person-centred service model, ensuring best practices in individualised therapy services.Monitor and evaluate services to ensure compliance with Visability policies, procedures, and contractual obligations.Conduct clinical assessments of functional independence, and develop, implement and evaluate individual services, including recommending specialised assistive technology.Maintain accurate records, case plans and documentation within the Client Management System.Report service-related issues to the Program Manager.Provide input to improve Visability processes through feedback and suggestions.Mentor and coach students, contributing to the OT profession.Perform other duties as required by the Manager.Desired Skills and ExperienceTertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy or a related field.Sound knowledge of current legislation, standards and policies in disability and aged community care services (state and national).Demonstrated understanding and experience with a person-centred approach to service delivery.Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills, especially for preparing complex submissions.Ability to utilise communication strategies and tools effectively.Innovative approach to service delivery.Previous experience in a similar role within the disability or health-related sectors.Understanding of consumer-directed care and person-centred practices in the disability and aged care sectors.Willingness to travel to client appointments and other locations as required.National Police Clearance, NDIS Worker Screening Check, valid WA driver's licence and AHPRA Registration.Evidence of annual Influenza vaccination.Experience working with individuals with disabilities, vision impairment or acquired brain injury.Understanding of funding models, particularly the NDIS.Demonstrated experience in recommending and prescribing assistive technology equipment and aids.Benefits:In return, you will be rewarded with:Enjoy up to 3 days of paid leave during the Christmas and New Year holidaysFree access to our gym.Ongoing professional development and training.Employee Assistance Program.NFP salary packaging options – use some of your salary for everyday expenses before income tax; meaning you can increase your take-home payHow to apply?If you're ready to help us, make a difference, click Apply and let's chat about what life looks like at EverAbility.Applications close at 4:00 PM on Friday, 24 January 2025.
