About the opportunity
Westgold Resources are currently on the lookout for Geology and Core Yard Technicians across all Northern and Southern Operations.
Reporting into the Senior Geologist, the Technician's main function is to perform underground geological activities and core yard duties required to facilitate the safe, efficient and cost-effective extraction and growth of the mineral resource.
This position will be offered on a permanent family-friendly 8 days on, 6 days off roster and is a great opportunity to kick start your career in the mining industry or further develop your geology technician skills.
The role includes
Processing diamond drill core through the site's core yard ensuring that backlog is kept to a minimum Providing support to the mine geology team as needed Grab sampling from surface and underground stockpiles Preparation of sites for geological mapping by washing down, paint mark ups and measurement markups Working closely with the Mine Geologists, carrying out quality control on face sample collection, documentation and delivery of samples to lab What do I need?
Attention to detail and accuracy Motivation to join the mining industry Good verbal and written communication skills Current, unrestricted WA 'C' Class Driver's License First Aid Certificate and Forklift Ticket (Desirable) National Police Clearance (12 month validity) The Westgold Offer:
