About the opportunity
The underground Beta Hunt Mine, located 600 km from Perth in Kambalda, Western Australia, is a deposit with the very rare feature of hosting both gold and nickel resources in adjacent discrete mineralised zones. Reporting to the Senior Surveyor, the Graduate Surveyor supports accurate mapping and measurement of sites, ensuring precise data collection for exploration, planning and operation.
The role includes
Assist the Mine Surveyor to supply all survey requirements for the underground and surface mine operations ensuring adherence to all statutory requirements and Company Safety, Health and Environmental standards and procedures.
Gain experience in all areas to ensure surveyor stats and completion of the Westgold Graduate Development Programs.
Develop communication skills both in dealings with technical service people and underground workers.
Assist and gain proficiency in completing surface and underground survey tasks autonomously.
Gain experience and familiarization in completing the requirements for end of month calculations and reporting.
Learn and develop advanced CAD processing skills over time.
Calculations and computation of survey field work as per Mine Surveyor's requirements.
Cleaning and maintenance of survey equipment including correctly storing equipment and checking for damage and faults.
Have detailed knowledge of supplies in stock and re-order stock through stores when supplies are low.
Prism monitoring surveys.
What do I need?
Completion of Tertiary Survey Qualification.
Mine site experience is not required but desirable.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
National Police Clearance (12 month validity).
