Position Classification: Aboriginal Health Worker
Remuneration: $30.46 - $44.02 per hour + annual leave loading + 11.5% Superannuation
Your role will be based at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH).
As you may have seen our show RPA on Australian National TV, it is one of the nation's most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.

This Temporary Part time Aboriginal Liaison Officer position will join the multi-disciplinary team and assist with connection and culturally sensitive practice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and their families in the inpatient hospital setting.
The Female Aboriginal Liaison Officer (ALO) is also responsible for supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in dealing with health issues.
The Female ALO is required to work effectively with staff of the hospital and other agencies including the Aboriginal Medical Service at Redfern and related services in order to provide support and assistance to persons and families receiving care from RPAH and community services.
The Female ALO is required to encourage families and communities to develop and implement their own strategies to address health issues to enhance the quality of community health.
Ideal candidate
Being female is recognised as a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under section 31 (2H) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
This is an Aboriginal Identified position; the applicant must be of Aboriginal descent by proof of Aboriginality, identify as Aboriginal and be accepted as such by the community.
Currently holds qualifications related to Health or Allied Health field or equivalent experience.
Broad understanding of Aboriginal culture and social issues in relation to health matters.
