Technical Specialist - Maintenance (Drill Fitter) K92 Mining operates the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine located in Papua New Guinea's Eastern Highlands.

About the role In this role you will provide specialist advice and support in mobile equipment servicing and repairs to our team of national technicians.
This rewarding role will see you provide daily mentoring, guidance, instruction, and training to the national workforce to increase the overall mobile maintenance capability and capacity within a motivated and talented department.
Key Accountabilities Proactively engage with the area supervisors to provide technical advice and support to the Mobile Equipment Teams to ensure fleet availability and reliability targets are achieved and optimised against budget.
Ensure effective contract management of existing and new suppliers and provide direction to the Site Product Support Representatives.
Support and assist the planning team to ensure the rectification of identified defective equipment to improve and optimise availability and reliability targets.
Work closely with the Reliability Engineer to assess performance and identify improvement projects to maximise results, reduce risk and implement cost management initiatives.
Establish a high-performance culture by motivating team members to achieve a high level of performance and by rewarding and recognising high performance.
Continuously mentor and coach technicians on effective repair techniques.
Identify skills gaps and training requirements and assist in developing training packages as required to close the skills gap.
Coordinate and assist with the delivery of training to employees including personnel of the Mobile Equipment Team's customers.
Demonstrates personal responsibility for own health and safety whilst setting clear expectations of relevant legal obligations, safe workplace practices and HSE operating practices to others, holding them accountable for their actions.
Ensure mobile fleet maintenance is conducted by competent technicians in a safe manner and in accordance with established procedures.
About You Qualifications & Experience
Relevant trade qualification in Heavy Equipment Fitting, Auto Electrical and Automation.
Minimum Certificate III required.
10+ years relevant work experience essential.
Previous experience operating in Papua New Guinea or developing countries in remote locations will be highly regarded.
Previous experience or knowledge of: DD420 Jumbos, DD421 Jumbos, DD422i Jumbo, DL421 Production Drills, DS421 Cable Bolting.
Experience with "I" Series Drilling Equipment (DD422i) would be an advantage but not essential.
Familiarization with the LH517i machines.
Knowledge of "Auto Mine" control systems an advantage.
General knowledge of CAT underground equipment would also be an advantage but not essential.
Computer proficiency in MS Office suite.
Experience in the use of Pronto will be advantageous.
Sound planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.
Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training.
