Teaching - Secondary (Education & Training) Full time St Joseph's offers an inclusive and non-discriminating learning community to young people, who for a variety of reasons, make the choice to attend a specialised learning environment.
St Joseph's operates across multiple campuses, located in North Melbourne, Geelong, Colac, Ballarat, and a dual engagement virtual learning campus, BlendED.
The young people who attend have typically experienced one or more significant and complex educational, social, developmental, psychological, health, legal or familial situations which demand unique responses.
Such interventions are embedded within the Operation By Principles framework, which combines education with an understanding of trauma-informed practice.
We are seeking an excellent leader to join the Director of Schools in leading our school communities in St Joseph practices of Operation by Principles and Common Ground.
This role will be focused on: Developing shared practice resources to ensure all staff are confident in the Operation By Principles Framework and can apply it correctly;Overseeing staff and student wellbeing initiatives and interventions across Campuses, providing support and direction to staff to enact good practice;Leading staff formation on the concept of inclusion and diversity.The role This role is a full-time 1.0FTE ongoing Teacher or Education Support Employee position with a 5-year fixed term allowance, based at our Carlton office, with flexible work arrangements, and frequent travel to school sites.The role commences Term 1, 2025 and you will be employed under the Catholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement 2022.Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, and attracts a travel allowance.You will need: Ability to commit to and work within our Operating Principles: Respect, Participation, Safe and Legal, and Honesty.A minimum of 5 years' relevant leadership experience in a secondary school environment (flexi school experience highly regarded).Relevant tertiary qualifications in teaching, business, social work, or a related field.Collaborative team player with the ability to build quality working relationships.Well-developed understanding of the developmental needs of young people from a disadvantaged or disengaged perspective.Eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).Eligible to maintain a Victorian Working with Children Check and provide a National Police Check certificate (issued within the last six months).Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People are encouraged to apply; we are an Equal Opportunity Employer and value diversity.
