Community Centre Manager

Balla Balla Community Centre Inc is a not for profit, Neighbourhood House located in Clyde North.
The position of Community Centre Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of the organisation and reports to the Balla Balla Community Centre Inc Committee of Governance.
This position requires a fundamental political understanding of the role of community organisations; proven organisational ability with experience of managing a community organisation; a command of community development principles and skills, business skills, an ability to develop and communicate policy and to advocate for the local community.
This is a part-time position 28 hours per week.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
Community Development - is the core aspect of the organisation and the reason the Centre secures annual Government funding.
The deliverables being the programs and activities that meet the wants and needs of the local community.
The Manager is responsible to develop and implement strategy, plans, policies and procedures in consultation with the Committee of Governance in line with legislation and expectations of funding bodies.
Ensure compliance to all statutory requirements
Prepare submissions and acquittals for relevant funding bodies in line with the Strategic Plan.
Develop, maintain and strengthen collaborative working relationships with the City of Casey, DFFH, Neighbourhood House Victoria and other funding bodies and external stakeholders.
Build partnerships within the community, including agencies and businesses that will support opportunities for the community and build the capacity of Balla Balla Community Centre.
Advise, inform and assist the Committee in fulfilling the Governance role and functions.
Participate in sub-committees and working groups that will build the organisations capacity.
Develop and manage annual yearly budgets in line with the Strategic Plan.
Recruit, supervise and manage all staff members and volunteers, providing support and training where required.
Key Selection Criteria:
Relevant qualification(s) and significant relevant experience, preferably in a Not-for-Profit or the Community Service sector.
Demonstrated experience managing a community sector based organisation including operational, financial and human resource management.
Strong business development, project management and leadership skills supporting long term organisational sustainability.
Experience in formulating strategic and operational plans and managing budgets.
Experience in Federal, State and Local Government policies, strategies and funding opportunities.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Employment Requirements:Current Police check and Working With Children check.
Classification:Neighbourhood Houses and Adult Community Education (NHACE) Centres Collective Agreement; under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS) Schedule 3B.
Level will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
