Job Type: Temporary Full-time
Work Hours: 38 hours per week
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced educator to join our team as a Head of Department (Curriculum) at Greenbank State School.
About the Role: Lead the curriculum of the school and work actively with teachers to develop their knowledge and capacity to deliver high-quality teaching and learning across the school.Have expert knowledge of the Australian Curriculum, high-yield pedagogical practices, and the Science of Reading.Be responsible for leading the relevant curriculum areas or whole-school program to develop, articulate, and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.Embed socially just practices in daily school life and set high standards for student and staff performance.Participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development and form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.Be futures-oriented and strategic, understand legislation and policies that impact schooling, especially in relation to students and staff within the school department.Manage human, financial, facilities, and curriculum resources of the curriculum areas or whole-school program to achieve goals.Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and evaluate the school's curriculum to ensure alignment with the Australian Curriculum.Provide leadership and support to teachers to enhance their knowledge and skills in delivering high-quality teaching and learning.Maintain accurate records and reports related to curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation.Collaborate with other stakeholders to promote a shared educational vision and foster partnerships between the school, community, and government agencies.Develop and manage budgets, resources, and facilities to support curriculum delivery and school operations.Requirements: Degree in Education or related field.Proven experience in curriculum leadership and teaching.Expert knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and high-yield pedagogical practices.Able to lead and manage teams effectively.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, parents, and community groups.What We Offer: Temporary full-time position.Competitive salary package ($141,088 - $143,582 per year).Campus-based employment with access to state-of-the-art facilities.A dynamic and supportive work environment.How to Apply: Please submit your application, including a cover letter, resume, and two-page response to the 'How you will be assessed' section of the attached role description.
