Part time 0.6FTE x 3 positionsContinuingBe part of a passionate and innovative teamAbout the position The La Trobe Rural Health School (LRHS) is the largest rural health school in Australia.
The LRHS is based at all four regional campuses of the University: Bendigo, Mildura, Shepparton, and Albury-Wodonga.
The Department of Rural Clinical Sciences is based at Bendigo and offers two Dentistry and Oral Health related programs:
The Bachelor of Oral Health Sciences – a course which graduates oral health therapists and will be able to register as dentists with AHPRA.The Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours) – a course which graduates Dentists and will be able to register as dentists with AHPRA.The discipline of dentistry and oral health is developing an esteemed clinical school to be located on the Bendigo Health site with a purpose-built, state-of-the-art clinical simulation unit.
The clinical school will support the activities and function of the discipline to develop graduates for the future.
We will utilise technology and advanced practice skills, including critical thinking and analysis to solve the problems that dental practitioners will encounter in the pursuing years.
A Level B Clinical Practitioner is responsible for clinical teaching-related duties involving the creation and implementation of content and materials to support Dentistry and Oral Health clinical education.
Activities include direct clinical teaching, using approaches informed by evidence that enhance the student experience, and align with the overarching curriculum design.
A Level B Clinical Practitioner should utilise advancements in education technologies and be engaged in the professional accreditation of courses.
Clinical Practitioners work closely with other members of our team to support students undertaking undergraduate studies in Dentistry and Oral Health, ensuring that we deliver an outstanding student experience and prepare them to be dental practitioners of the future.
Clinical Practitioners may be allocated up to 100% of their workload in the combined categories of teaching, activities related to teaching, and teaching scholarship.
Skills and Experience To be considered for this position, you will have:
Masters or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the University/profession as appropriate for the Dentistry and Oral Health discipline.Registered or eligible to register as a Registered Dentist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching/curriculum development/subject coordination in face-to-face, blended and/or online modes, as evidenced by sustained high results on student feedback on teaching surveys, teaching excellence awards or through other forms of evidence.Recent and relevant contemporary clinical/professional experience as relevant to the Dentistry and Oral Health discipline.Sound analytical skills with an ability to communicate complex information clearly, both verbally and in writing, demonstrating the ability to collaborate with staff and students from a diverse range of backgrounds.High level organisational skills with the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, initiate and follow-up actions, all with minimal or no supervision.Please refer to the Position Description for other duties, skills and experience required for this position.
