Our national and globally connected business allows opportunities for our staff to be involved and work on key globally recognised projects such as the NSW Sydney Metro Transport Projects, growing Energy and Defence Projects, and other nationally significant opportunities across Australia, South-East Asia, North America and Europe - projects that shape the communities in which we live.
You will have opportunities to build connections across our networks of international experts and bring your knowledge to our clients and to their projects.
The OpportunityOur Project Strategy & Delivery team is looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to support the delivery of our committed work, and growing pipeline of prospects for government and institutional clients.
These initial engagements are primarily within the design and construction delivery models common on major energy and transportation infrastructure but also extend to the buildings and water sectors that we also serve within NSW.
You will be joining a diverse team of consultants who are passionate about what they do, with a proven track record guiding our clients, and leading delivery of our most critical projects.
Your ResponsibilitiesDevelop commercial strategies, advising on procurement strategies and contract selection, writing and undertaking procurement reports.Developing commercial and financial models and collaborating with project advisors, client contract packages for various elements of project delivery.Manage commercial negotiations with various parties, including clients and industry partners, in complex arrangements across joint ventures, design and construct engagements, and collaborative delivery models such as Alliances or Integrated Delivery Partners.Handle contractual frameworks (including GC21 and Australian Standards), standard contract forms (such as NEC and FIDIC), and their effective administration including acting as our trusted representative and at times on behalf of clients.Identify and act upon opportunities to improve commercial management procedures, templates, and products that improve our client services.Advise on matters of commercial risk and governance.Collaborate with in-house counsel, insurance managers, and technical leads to produce fit for purpose internal solutions to commercial risks.About YouYou will have focused on improving commercial outcomes for both your clients and our projects, which include:
Qualifications relevant to commercial management, finance, economics or relevant experience alongside engineering, law, or business.Experience in infrastructure consultancies and delivery of major projects.Practical experience of domestic and international Standard Forms of infrastructure contract.Strong commercial skills and detailed understanding of relevant procurement and delivery strategies in New South Wales.D&C Contract Management and Business Development and Relationship Management preferred.Culture & BenefitsMott MacDonald celebrates diversity and inclusion, offering a supportive work environment that values work-life balance, diversity, inclusion, and equity.
