Application Modernisation Delivery Specialist, Professional Services Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for highly talented hands-on technical architects to help accelerate our growing business.

Professional Services engages in a wide variety of projects for customers and partners, spanning diverse technologies across multiple industries.
The Modernization Practice collaborates across the entire organization to deliver the best solutions for customers, connect with product and service teams, and drive feature innovation based upon customer needs.
As trusted customer advocates, the Practice helps organizations understand best practices around advanced solutions, and how to migrate and/or re-develop existing workloads.
You will help shape, execute, and deliver solutions for a broad range of customer use cases primarily from large customers.
This is not a pure technical role, nor is it a pure selling role.
It is an individual with a unique modernization and native development expertise, hands-on building, coupled with cross-industry business acumen, including a heavy dose of passion for continued knowledge acquisition and growth, obsession for customers, and their success using AWS.
Key Job Responsibilities As a Delivery Consultant, you will lead complex projects with autonomy and discretion, often involving multiple Amazon, customer, and partner teams.
You will work with customers and partners, leading them through planning, prioritization, and delivery of complex transformation and migration initiatives, while collaborating with relevant Sales, Service, and Support Teams.
You will design and deliver solutions that solve for new levels of complexity, scale, and performance, enabling breakthrough innovations.
You will create and apply frameworks, methods, best practices, and artifacts that deliver prescriptive guidance to customers, and publish and present them in large forums and across various media platforms.
You will guide customers' technical architecture and investments, maximizing alignment with the platform and ease of adoption as new services and products become available.
An Ideal Candidate Will Be Able To: Help customers architect scalable, highly available solutions that leverage AWS services; Architect and develop customer applications to be optimized; Work as a technical leader alongside customer business, development, and operations teams; Provide deep software development knowledge with respect to design patterns and programming; Advise and implement best practices; Implement practices such as Infrastructure as Code, continuous integration, and automated deployment leveraging Generative AI.
A Day in the Life Work backwards from desired customer outcomes to design and deliver technical solutions; Create, articulate, and position an innovative and compelling vision and value proposition for customers to migrate and modernize to the AWS cloud; Work on projects with autonomy and discretion; Collaborate across customers and partner teams to drive and shape solutions that accelerate customers' business outcomes; Advise and assist customers on how to implement solutions; Assist customers with building Proof of Concepts and implementing AWS services; Collaborate with Sales and AWS Service Teams; Research, validate, and beta test new AWS Services.
About the Team AWS Professional Services presents a real opportunity to transform service delivery as well as increase operational efficiencies, and we need passionate, experienced cloud consultants to help our customers realize those benefits.
Our consultants collaborate with customer teams to deliver proof-of-concept projects, workshops, and architecture assessments, provide advisory services, and lead implementation projects working with AWS customers.
Minimum Qualifications Experience developing software code in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, etc.
); Experience in IT implementation; Experience and technical expertise (design and implementation) in cloud computing technologies; Experience with cloud-native technologies; Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile/iterative methodologies; Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery; Experience with converting monolith applications to microservices on cloud and building cloud-native applications; Experience in building event-driven architecture.
Preferred Qualifications 8+ years of programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar object-oriented language experience; Experience leading the design, development, and deployment of business software at scale or recent hands-on technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, and virtualization experience; Experience in configuration management using CloudFormation, Chef & Puppet; Experience with designing and building applications using cloud services and development leveraging Generative AI tools; Experience in building Generative AI applications.
