Melbourne, Australia | Posted on 12/10/2024Our Business Development Manager is responsible for expanding PSC Software products and PSC Biotech business opportunities. As a Business Development Manager your responsible for day-to-day activities related to business development, sales, and PSC Biotech client support in Australia and APAC, you will play a critical role in the future expansion of PSC Biotech into new markets and the long-term success of the Software and Professional services divisions. This role is an outstanding opportunity to learn and grow as a salesperson in the competitive and technical life science industry.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Work with marketing to build creative and informative materials to send to prospects and clients.Work with the Management Team to incorporate target companies into your outreach cadence.Develop new and lead software sales strategy for ANZ and APAC.Providing client support on PSC Software products and PSC Biotech, collaborating with cross-functional departments as required i.e. Software Division and Pro Serve Division.Document sales activities in CRMAssesses industry business trends to capitalise on emerging opportunities for business growth.Establishes effective relationships with clients to grow an effective business team to expand PSC Software product and PSC Biotech presence and business growth.Represent PSC Software products and PSC Biotech at business development activities (conferences, seminars, training) in ANZ and APAC.Generate leads, qualify prospects, and secure new business opportunities for PSC Software products and PSC Biotech.Conduct formal sales presentations and follow-up calls to prospective new business accounts.Ensure proposals meet minimum standards for profitability and work with Senior Management to develop sustainable pricing for ANZ and APAC.Follow up on submitted information (i.e., events, inquiries, RFPs, proposals, etc.) as appropriate.Travel as needed.Complete other activities deemed necessary by management to achieve department goals.DEMONSTRATED COMPETENCIES:Business Development – Identify and target potential clients. Work in a team environment; develop and execute a plan, in alignment with company vision, mission and strategic plans to engage potential customers.Marketing – Ability to identify and expand company brand and awareness. Assesses industry business trends to capitalise on emerging opportunities for business growth.Relationship Building – Works with and across formal and informal professional and social networks to build long-term partnerships and connections in the life science industry.Customer Service - Ability to interact with professionals and customers outside of the company.Negotiation Skills – Active listening, needs assessment, and presents visions to build a consensus.Analytical Skills – Identifies, researches, and demonstrates logical reasoning to communicate critical information.Rational Persuasion – Presents key factors, influencing factors, and strategic goals to assist stakeholders in identifying solutions.Interpersonal Awareness – Ability to be aware of how actions, ideas, and communication can/does affect people and their outcomes.Agility – Meets objectives by responding to competing and changing priorities and multiple tasks under inflexible timelines.Entrepreneurial Orientation - The ability to look for and seize profitable business opportunities.RequirementsREQUIRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree in business administration or related experience3 plus years of relevant experience with sales, business development, and client relationship managementWe are hiring the next generation of sales representatives.A passion for sales, technology, and the Life Science sectorHighly effective planning and time management skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience in MS Office and analysis software desiredProven ability to generate a high volume/high-quality sales pipeline.Understanding of the industry, with the ability to become a subject matter expert.This role will be a Hybrid working model, working 2/3 days from out office based in Clayton.
